General Biosolids Spillage Cleaning
Regular cleaning of biosolids spillage is an important part of preventive maintenance. During loading and unloading cycles, it's common for bits of biosolids to fall out of the machine and accumulate under the BioDryer. Operators should make it a routine to inspect the area around the BioDryer and promptly clean the floor if any biosolids spillage is detected. This practice helps maintain a clean and safe working environment and upholds the operational efficiency of the BioDryer facility.
If biosolids accumulate under the BioDryer and an operator opts not to use a leaf blower for cleaning, it's imperative to follow the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedure. This ensures that all energy sources to the BioDryer are properly isolated and locked out before any cleaning commences beneath the machine. Adhering to the LOTO procedure is crucial for preventing any unintended startup of the BioDryer during cleaning, thereby ensuring the safety of the personnel involved.
